Search Engine Optimization and SEO Tools
Traffic exchanges are all over the internet. I am amazed at the numerous amount of them that exist. And I thought that there were only a few, until I saw a list from another web site, promoting traffic exchanges to get traffic to your web site. They say that we need traffic to our sites to get referrals for our mlm/affiliate programs, or for sales.
Well, it's true that we need traffic. But think about it. It's one website telling us that we need traffic. They provide a list of traffic exchanges for us to join. We get suckered into joining the sites, only to realize that all the work we put into it yields far less results than we expect. Meanwhile, the owner of the site that recommends the traffic exchanges uses the same exchanges to promote his/her program(s) without surfing a lot of sites. Why? It's because we all sign up for the traffic exchanges, using his/her links or people in his/her downline. When we surf, they earn credits from our efforts, as well as theirs. Meanwhile, we just get credits for our own efforts, if we don't recruit referrals. I'm not knocking it. I'm just informing you of the broader perspective.
So, then, what do you do? Do you want traffic? Of course you do. But, you also want results. You want people, who are interested, to visit your site(s). Those involved in traffic exchages want the same thing you want. They want referrals, subscribers, or buyers. They, for the most part, are not interested in what you are promoting. They are interested in what they are promoting. So they surf the different sites to get credits to have traffic to their sites, just as you do. It's a revolving cycle. That's not what you want. You want people who probably will get involved with your promotion, not possibly will get involved.
There is a difference between probability and possibility. Let's look at possibility. Most gamblers and lottery players gamble on the possibility that they will win their bets. One may go to a slots machine, spend money, pull the lever, and wait for a random result. However, the results are so random that people with this mentality continue to bet, hoping for a win. They don't consider the odds that are stacked against them. They don't realize or care that most other people don't come out ahead. They just think of the possibility of a win for themselves. It's true that this mentality also filters in to the traffic exchanges. The owners of those traffic exchanges know this, capitalizing on it.
Now let's look at probability. While the majority of gamblers use possibility as motivation, professional gamblers use probability. They gamble for a living. They play black jack (using card-counting techniques) or other games where the house has less of an advantage against them. They calculate the odds of winning, then make aggressive moves at times when they are more likely to win. That's what probability is. In other words. They make their most aggressive moves when they probably/most likely will win (when the odds are much more in their favor instead of in the house's favor). Traffic exchanges don't give you the best probabilities. You need to promote, using the ways of probability, rather than possibility.
There are a lot of ways to make this happen, but I will just name three. They are: email marketing campaigns, search engine marketing, and word-of-mouth. Let's face it. You have something to offer. But, you want to inform people who are more likely to show interest in it. That's where email marketing comes in. The best companies in which you can buy lists, use methods to screen their contacts, according to their interests. That way you can buy lists of people seeking what you have to offer, whose income is where you want it, and so on. With search engine marketing, You bid to have your web site seen in the search results on google, yahoo, or others. I prefer just google and yahoo. Last, there is word-of-mouth. Let's face it. If you have something good to offer, let people know about it. Your success, will cause others to be drawn to you. Personal contacts with someone they can trust will be sometimes more effective than surfing the internet.
I didn't go in depth with the first two methods of marketing/advertising. You can research those methods on google or yahoo. I'm not recommending any specific company. It will cost some money. It's not free. However, some may offer referral bonuses for bringing them customers like you. So, research, have fun and think in terms of probability. Your business needs it. So do you.
